What to choose for your outdoor wall recessed spotlight?

The outdoor wall recessed spotlight is the outdoor luminaire perfectly suited for laterally illuminating a staircase or driveway. Very discreet during the day, when night falls this light offers a very nice effect creating a path of light to follow. In addition to being pretty, it secures the walkers. Many recessed wall lights are available, it all depends on what you want to have as light? Powerful to light a little more than the ground or just a grazing light of soil. You choose the wall recessed spot that fits your space and your desires!

How to choose its wall-mounted outdoor wall unit?

Two types of technologies exist for the spot:

- With integrated LEDs that do not change bulbs, if it breaks down the disadvantage is that you have to change the full spot. The advantage of this technology is that it is intended to operate for approximately 20000 hours without touching it. What makes, for example, use of 3 hours per day for 20 years which allows time to come?

- With a standard E27 or G9 base bulb which also allows integrating an LED bulb. The advantage of it is that if it does not work anymore, you can change the bulb. In addition, you have the possibility to vary the hot or cold colour temperature of the luminous flux. This spot is more powerful than the integrated LED spots.

If you want to illuminate a staircase or driveway: an integrated LED wall-mounted luminaire with a downward luminous flux is perfectly adapted, but the wall must not be too far away from where you want it to illuminate.
If you want to light a path adorned with beautiful vegetation: there you need a wall spot more powerful, the type of spot with the bulb to choose quite suitable.

If you want to illuminate the edge of a pool: Very good idea design because it creates beautiful effects with the reflections of the water. For the choice of this spot, already its Protection index must be high and it depends on the distance to which you wish to place them in relation to the water point. Water and electricity equal danger, standards are respected. Then it should be quite powerful and the luminous flux not too oriented towards the ground or not oriented towards the ground with an opal diffuser so that it does not dazzle you.

What does IP ... mean the 2 numbers of the outdoor wall insert?

IP stands for Protection Index against dust and water. The first digit is its protection against foreign objects that can sneak between slots and the second for its protection against water. For outdoor luminaires, the second digit is important depending on its location. The higher it is, the more resistant your light is to water.
For example, a luminaire located at a place such as under a rain-sheltered entrance, we recommend an IP23.

When your outdoor luminaire is in direct contact with rain, you must choose at least one IP 44. See our plan below for the placement of outdoor luminaires according to their degree of protection.
